2012 Initiative: American Indian Cultures

South Dakota Humanities Council is offering American Indian theme in 2012. Our programs will highlight this theme throughout the year.

 


 

Speakers Bureau/Chautauqua

This year we have several American Indian programs offered by our humanities and chautauqua scholars. You still have the option to choose from our large variety of Speakers’ Bureau programs.

One Book South Dakota

Read the One Book South Dakota selection, The Journey of Crazy Horse: A Lakota History by Joseph Marshall III.

Reading Group Toolkits

Select from our large and diverse body of titles available for reading groups.

Exhibits

SDHC is discontinuing its traveling exhibits. The South Dakota State Historical Society offers traveling exhibits, and they can be reached at http://history.sd.gov/Museum or 605-773-3458.

Grants and Financial Assistance

The current American Indian Initiative extends into financial assistance through grants. Proposals addressing the annual initiative are given priority.

Grant proposals on the topic of American Indian culture will be accepted through the September 30th, 2011 deadline.
